Crafting Beauty Through Tradition and Innovation

Art has always been a fundamental part of my existence, shaped profoundly by my creatively inclined family. My grandfather, a dedicated art teacher, and my grandmother, who passionately runs a wreath-making business, ignited my love for craftsmanship from an early age. During high school, I engaged in various 4H projects, exploring floriculture and arts and crafts, where I crafted an array of wreaths, centerpieces, and corsages using both live and artificial flowers. I even designed both sets of my own corsages and boutonnieres for my junior and senior prom. Pursuing a minor in Studio Art at Indiana University, I discovered the sheer joy of working with loose graphite, which provided a delightful blend of freedom and texture. Beyond the classroom, I delved into various artistic mediums, notably creating and selling stickers in 2020 to share my illustrations with the world. Recently, I have embraced sewing and quilting, uncovering a deep connection with textiles. Quilting, in particular, fascinates me with its harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, allowing me to weave together fabrics and colors into stunning designs. Through every medium I explore, I strive to fuse tradition with personal expression, crafting pieces that are not only functional but also beautiful. As I continue to grow as an artist, I am eager to explore new realms of creativity, experimenting with mixed media and digital art forms. Each new project presents an opportunity to challenge myself and discover fresh perspectives, ensuring that my artistic journey remains vibrant and ever-evolving. My artistic exploration transcends mere creation; it is about forging connections and sharing stories through my work. I believe that art possesses the power to inspire, heal, and unite people.
